Part 2 of the trilogy of 'The Magic Ring'
Only the ring speaks
THE RUBY RING
Yea, though fingerless for years I lay,
Hoping, yearning for that day,
When true love would your heart find
And I that love with gift would bind.
Yet love that's true, when found,
Is something special, something sound.
Thus many a night turned to new day,
As I in that knowledge fingerless lay,
That I would thus remain,
Until that one moment came,
The one you've wished upon the star.
And when you first saw her there,
In Whistler, at Tapley's famous bar,
It was indeed she with golden hair.
The moment was just right,
It was my special night.
That girl so sweet, her smile from above,
I saw it too, it is indeed love!
