Narwhales in open waters to this very day.
Not traditional, yet I heard another version with an ending about magic--that was never mentioned in Shel's version. Driving home, running the original verses through my head, I came up with something more 'biblical'. If you think the original needs anything, you may use this as an ending. Personally, I like the song as it was written.
